Hello readers! It’s time for the first Christmas themed book tag. I love doing these so much. I tried my best to only use winter or Christmas related books, and I did it pretty well until the very last prompt. BUT, most of these are Christmas/winter books.
This tag was created by Booktuber Hailey in Bookland. I highly recommend watching her channel right now. She just got out of a very long term relationship and is sort of financially struggling. So, please go give her some views if you have time.
A book set during Christmas

This one follows a cupid woman who has never experienced love, so she asks for it for Christmas. This is very grumpy sunshine, with the Santa character being the grumpy one.
This one is a bit out there, but I enjoyed it while I was reading it!
Five cold words

Red and green book cover

This is one of my favorite Christmas books I’ve read. It follows a Scrooge type character. One day he sees his own obituary in the newspaper and this causes him to have an epiphany about his life and how he treats people.
This causes him to attempt to make amends with a dozen people he has done wrong in his life. It goes well for some and not for others.
A character with a festive name

I am so bad at remembering characters names in books, and even TV shows to be honest.
BUT, I thought about it and Mr. Mercedes has a character named Holly! It’s not set at Christmas or anything, but Holly is a really amazing character who happens to be autistic and everyone should read this one!
A festive object

I thought this one would be perfect as it has a snow globe on the front.
This one follows a woman who has come home for Christmas after both her parents have died in the previous year. She wants to spend it with her brother and their family, but her brother isn’t easy to be around.
This one also has a brother’s best friend romance, and is sort of second chance, I guess, because she has known him her whole life.
A book with baking in it

Tide and Punishment is the third book in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series. It’s a cozy mystery series following a woman named Everly who comes back to her hometown after a breakup. When she gets there, she opens up her own tea shop (cold tea not hot tea).
As in every other cozy mystery series, she is accused of murder and then decides to solve the mystery herself. There is also a bit of a romance in this series, but it doesn’t develop till later on.
This is my favorite cozy mystery series and I really need to find more to read in the future!
A book cover with a wintery scene

I couldn’t do this tag without mentioning A Christmas Carol. I love this book and the story. It’s honestly such a good story that I think many people can learn from. It’s never too late to decide to be a good person.
I still stand by my post last year where I told you guys my favorite Christmas movies where I said that the Muppets version is the best. I should rewatch that this month!
A book cover with silver and gold

A Hunt So Wild and Cruel is a retelling of A Christmas Carol, but it’s a romance and there is fae. It’s the fourth book in the Wicked Darlings series.
It follows a human queen who is kind of awful. She has cancelled this Winter Festival because she doesn’t want to have to pay for it and then is visited by three fae ghosts.
A book that was a gift

I’ve owned this book for as long as I can remember. My parents gave me this book when I was a kid and it’s the one I’ve owned the longest as well.
I know I have read Little Women, but it was a long, long time ago. Should I reread this or watch a movie of it? I’ve never watched an adaptation of Little Women before.
A title that describes how Christmas shopping feels

Christmas Shopaholic is the 9th book in the Shopaholic series. I personally really love Christmas and I love to Christmas shop. I have a hard time not getting everything I can think of as far as gifts go.
I love gift giving so much. One of my favorite things is trying to find the perfect gift for each person and seeing how well I guessed. Sometimes I can find things the person didn’t even know they would want or like.
