The Netflix Book Tag

Hello readers! It’s time for a tag post. In March I did the Movie Tag, in April I did the TV Tag, and now I have a Netflix themed one. This one isn’t about the movies or TV shows like those were, though.

This tag was created by Booktuber A Darker Shade of Whitney.

Recently Watched: The last book you finished reading

The last book I finished was Iron Flame. In my opinion, Iron Flame did not live up to Fourth Wing.

It was way too long and I hate that this author has to make every character Violet doesn’t like redeemable in some way. She doesn’t have to forgive or make up with every single person who has done her wrong.

Top Picks: A book/books that have been recommended to you based on book you have previously read.

I actually was reading The Fine Print with some people on IG and someone said this book references The Fine Print.

I am super excited to read this just to see how it relates to The Fine Print and to see what all the hype is about. At this point, this Booktok books are 50/50 for me.

Recently Added: The last book you bought

I didn’t buy this per se, but it was the last book I aquired. I was sent Arcanum Unbounded by a follower of mine on Booktok. She has been VERY supportive of me through what my husband is putting me through.

I am at the point in the Cosmere where I can read almost all of this book, so I’ll be reading most of it in 2024 when I can.

Popular on Netflix: Books that everyone knows about. (2 you’ve read and 2 you have read or have no interest in reading)

Two I’ve Read (and loved):

Two I Haven’t Read (and have no interest in):

Comedies: A funny book

I used to not be a big fan of celebrity memoirs, but they have grown on me. And, one of my favorites is Yearbook.

This is a mix of background information of all his movies, moments in his childhood, and drug use. LOTS of drug use. Most of the hallucinogen variety.

Dramas: A character who is a drama queen/king.

Guys… I literally cannot think of even ONE. Let me know what you would answer! I looked at others people’s posts and they all named a character from The Cruel Prince and I haven’t read that series. 😂

Animated: A book with cartoons on the cover

I just love Emily Antoinette’s covers. I love that all of them have these plus size ladies on them! And, the kind that don’t have the flat stomachs.

Maneater has my favorite of all. This character is a succubus who falls in love with a male witch.

Watch it again: A book/book series that you want to re-read.

One that I’ve wanted to reread for about 10 years now is Death Note. I have this all in one edition on my wishlist that I just need to get around to buying.

Once I have it, I will be rereading the whole thing. It’s only 12 books, which isn’t that many for a manga.

Documentaries: A non-fiction book you’d recommend to everyone

I LOVED this book. It follows Dita Kraus, who kept a little library of books that people managed to sneak into Auschwitz.

I have to warn you, this book is NOT for the faint of heart. This book is hard to read as it centers the holocaust. It kind of traumatized me reading it, but I’m really glad I did.

Action and Adventure: An action packed book

This is that type of book that is over 500 pages, but really doesn’t feel like it. So much happens with this group before and during getting into this assassin academy.

New Releases: A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read.

One thing that got me back into read during my slump of 2023 was John Marrs, and I can’t wait to read his next one that comes out in July.

His books never disappoint for me and I really miss reading scifi books!
