Alli the Book Giraffe

Hello readers! It’s time to do another Down the TBR Hole post. If you missed any of my previous posts, CLICK HERE.

Essentially, you go through 5 to 10 books per post on your Want to Read shelf on Goodreads and purge all the ones you know you won’t be getting to anytime soon. Last time, we ended with 161 books and are still there. I am finally at a point this year where I’m not adding a ton of books. It’s just so tempting at the beginning of every year!

First we have This is Our Rainbow. This is a book of LGBT centered short stories by many authors. And, I have no intention of removing at the moment as I own the book.

I am pretty sure I’ll read this one in 2024, but we will see. This year hasn’t been anything like I expected.

I honestly forgot about this book! I know it centers the harsh reality of beauty standards in South Korea and I absolutely still want to read it.

I know it follows a couple different women and shows their friendship and how they are treated based on their looks. South Korea is the plastic surgery capital of the world after all.

This is a middle grade graphic novel centering a boy who wants to be a witch. In Aster’s family, it’s tradition for boys to become shape shifters and girls to be witches, but that isn’t what he wants.

I’m not planning to remove this book as I still want to read it. As a matter of fact, I’m going to add it to my wishlist so I can get it soon.

I have no idea what this book is about and honestly I don’t know if I’ll read it at this point. I remember adding this because I saw it at the bookstore and I like quirky titles.

BUT, it’s also historical fiction, and that isn’t my favorite. I’ll remove it for now and we’ll see what happens.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is a multi series manga series. I know it follows many different generations of people who work at a circus.

I know my library has this book series and I really need to try it out. Speaking of that, my library card expired this week. So, I need to go there anyhow.

Here is another one that I don’t know what it’s about. I don’t even remember why I added it.

I think I’m going to remove this one as I don’t really have any intentions to read it.

I don’t have audible, but I really need to get it for a month or something so I can listen to this book. I love Molly Burke and would love to read her book.

Molly is a blind Canandian woman on YouTube. She is around the same age as me. I love watching her videos and seeing how she views the world. She is so successful despite all the things holding her back.

It’s actually really sad looking at this cover, too. The dog on the cover was her guide dog that died last year. Why have I never met that dog, but I cried when I learned he died?

This last book is a foodie romance. I am not sure of the plot, but that doesn’t matter at all to me. If it’s a foodie book, I wanna read it!

This one has been on my TBR too long! I really am going to try to read this one in 2024.
