The Sunday Post #27 + An Update On My Stolen Content

Hello readers! It’s Sunday again and that means it’s time to give my weekly update. On top of that, I’m also going to give you some updates on my content being stolen and show you guys how I went about reporting it if you are experiencing the same thing.

The Sunday Post and the thumbnail I’m using were created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!

Stolen Content Update:

So much has happened. Firstly, the place I even found that my content was being stolen from is Pinterest. I found one of my blog posts shared on there from another website called TECH4SN by a man named Ahsan Roy.

Before posting here, I went to Tik tok to ask people what to do. It turns out, authors know a lot about this and many of them told me about this thing called DMCA.

I submitted a DMCA takedown to Pinterest and they found me in the right. I think the guy blocked me on there after because I went back to see if anything else of mine was on there and I couldn’t find his profile.

I didn’t know this either, but when you claim someone’s content as stolen, it strikes their pinterest. I knew this happened on Youtube or Tiktok, but not Pinterest.

The only other content I have found shared on Pinterest from here is through WordPress’s Pinterest, which is totally fine. They are linking directly to my posts and not claiming them as written by someone else.

I messaged tech4sn directly and got nothing back from them, so I searched online to find their host website.

It turns out Godaddy has this database where you can search domains and find out who hosts the website along with an abuse email that you can use. If someone is stealing your content, you can use the abuse email or go directly to their website to report it.

But, the abuse email can also be used if a website is posting scams and other things.

Once I did this, I found their host website is Hostinger and have since emailed them with proof of my stolen content, but I also informed them that other people had content on there that was stolen, too.

I tried to report this to WordPress, but they said they can’t help me. I told them that many of their bloggers are being stolen from, but they said if it isn’t happening on their website, they won’t do anything about it.

On Wednesday, I got an email from Hostinger stating I didn’t give them enough evidence. Which, is fair. I just gave them a broad link to my content and didn’t show them where it appeared on mine. So, I fixed that.

I sent them an email the same day with 10 different posts including what day I posted them and the day TECH4SN posted them along with 8 screenshots. And, it worked! They found me in the right on this one. They said they have messaged TECH4SN and told them to remove my content or prove that they have some right to use it. (Which they don’t.) And, if they don’t do either of those things, their entire website will be removed.

A part of me hoped their entire website would be removed because of all the other bloggers content that is on there. I could help all of us instead of just myself. I did do my best to email or DM about a dozen different bloggers to inform them of their content being on this site. I’ve only been messaged back by one person, but I hope they at least saw the message.

I went onto TECH4SN’s site Saturday morning and all my content is gone! I hope everyone else is able to find and remove their content as well. I have learned so much this week about copyrighted content.

Life Update:

In general, life has not been amazing this week, to be honest. Chronic Illness is kicking my butt. I’ve also been waking up with migranes all week. I was just not feeling good at all. I even took a nap, which I never do. I always find when I nap that I feel like crap when I wake up, but this time it was so refreshing.

On top of that, my dog is also sick right now. One of my cats scratched her head earlier this week and her whole eye was swollen for about 24 hours. A few days later she is I noticed she wasn’t eating. She wouldn’t even eat cheese or treats, so I knew something wasn’t right. Right now, we think it is her teeth that is the problem, but we are going to find out this week.

I skipped a Tag Thursday for the first time since June! I did have one planned, but I didn’t have time to write it, so last week’s tag is going to be up this week. I posted every Thursday for 33 weeks in a row, which is still amazing.

I did double post twice this week, though. So, y’all still got a lot of content. The Monday double post was not planned ahead of time like the Tuesday ones were.

However, I am nearly 50% through my bookkeeping course on Intuit. I didn’t do as much of it this week as I wasn’t feeling great. I just cannot focus when I’m feeling really sick or when I’m worrying about my dog.

When it comes to reading, I’m getting back into it! I have a few ARCs that I really need to get done and that is really helping to motivate me to read more.

This upcoming week is going to be so much better, though. My husband is taking a week off of work and we have our 6th anniversary! I am also hoping to get my daughter into some homeschool kid events. I have found it really hard to find places that will accept her for sports and things because she doesn’t go to traditional schooling.

Also, the superbowl is today! I don’t know why, but I love watching the superbowl. I really don’t understand football. I mean in the way of the rules and stuff. But, I love seeing the halftime show and spending time with family. This year it’s Usher! Y’all I LOVED Usher as a kid. His album Confessions came out 20 years ago this year. I used to listen to that CD (along with Jesse Mccartney’s Beautiful Soul album) 24/7. I even used to make up my own dances to Usher’s songs and would perform them for my family.

Reading Update:

Yeah…. I don’t know how we got here. I am somehow reading 6 books at the same time. I haven’t finished a book this month, but I haven’t wasted any time starting them. I am hoping to have 2 or three of these finished this week. Tainted Truths comes out on Valentines Day, so I really have to get that one done soon.

ARCs on My Shelf:

I got an e-arc of Eminence of Whispers and Shadows this week. I am SOOO excited to read this one. It comes out on the 29th, but I have two other ARCs I need to get to before I start this one.

If you are reading this, are you interested in possibly meeting me in the fall at a book event? I’m hoping to go to this event in October where Arianna Isabella will be there signing books along with other authors. Its in Georgia at mystic falls. Not much is known about this event yet, but I hope to meet a ton of book friends while I’m there!

What I Watched:

This week I finished off what was left of Masterchef Canada on Tubi. Does anyone else think Masterchef Canada is somehow better? I feel like the cooks on there are better, but I’m also talking about the challenges.

Especially if we are talking about the later seasons of Masterchef US. The contestants aren’t given as many challenges. The challenges aren’t as broad as on the Canada one either. I’m really excited to start the Australia one next!

I’ve also been watching this show called The Floor. It’s a new show with around 90 people who have a topic they are an expert on and everyone has to go head to head until only the one is left. It’s really good and a show that I could actually see myself doing well on.

And yesterday I started the most recent episode of Kids Baking Championship. I was looking through MAX to see if there were any good food shows on there I haven’t seen yet and saw there was a new season.

Changes Going Forward:

Going foward, I’m going to make a disclaimer at the bottom of my posts where I say something along the lines of stating that this post is from WordPress and if anyone is seeing it anywhere else, it is stolen content. This person stealing my posts probably isn’t smart enough to even take that out of the dang post.

I just don’t know why anyone would want to steal my content. I have less than 250 followers. I don’t get a ton of views, likes or comments. And, I’m not complaining about that at all! I am fine being in my small corner of the internet. I just don’t feel relevant enough to have my content stolen.

I’m also considering making my Sunday Posts for followers only, but I know content stealers can follow me, so I’m not sure yet.

  1. I’m really glad that you got your content theft sorted out. When I looked at the site it seemed as though the whole thing was just stolen content from various sources. I’m sorry that you’re feeling so unwell at the moment. Maybe the Superbowl will cheer you up.

    1. I think their entire website is stolen content as well. They have reviews of movies and all other things and I’m not familiar with those types of blogs, but I bet they are stolen as well.

  4. This is not the first time my blog posts were stolen. I’ve reported all 62 that appear on this site, and hopefully they’ll all be taken down. Next, I’ll take them all off of the Google Search engines. This is SUCH a pain to do!

    1. It really is a pain! I am hoping that TECH4SN might be taken down completely after the host website gets so many reports and then we can solve this issue for everyone.
