Hello readers! It’s Sunday again. What do you guys think of the new look? I never really knew how to make my blog look different than it did and I played around a bit this week with my settings and changed the colors and fonts.

I don’t normally do this, but here are some photos of my pets I took this week! Well, two of them are mine.
The picture on the left is of my cat Tyrion, and the right is my mom’s cat Khloe and my dog Padme.
The Sunday Post and the thumbnail I’m using were created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!
Life Update:

This week my husband and I made BBQ chicken pizza with bacon! It was honestly delicious. Once it was done, I had to take a pic to show you guys!
Don’t worry, I have a ton of baked goods I’m planning to make in 2024 and I’ll show you all of them as well. I have my anniversary next month, 4 birthdays, my daughter’s graduation, and any other excuse I can make to bake something.
I also started a store on Teachers Pay Teachers and Classful (in my linktree). I am hoping to make some extra cash to pay off the debt we incured last year so we can build our credit back up. We want to buy a house in the next few years. We are financially stable right now, but I thought I could try a few things to help pay everything a bit faster.
Basically, these websites are a place for teachers and homeschooling parents to sell worksheets and other teaching resources. At this moment, I am focusing on posting chapter questions for middle grade books.
This week I’ve also applied to college. I went to college a few years back and ended up not finishing my degree. I went for 4 entire semesters before I stopped. I’m going to start up again in the fall with something completely new.
Last time, I was going to be a librarian. The closer I got to the end, the more I realized I didn’t really want to do it. I do LOVE libraries and books, but I also am not very good with people. AND, a librarian with an associates degree doesn’t even make that much money for having an entire degree.
Anyhow, I am starting off my new degree with an enrolled agent certificate. I am hoping to be a tax prepaper. I’ve been doing my own taxes my entire adulthood on Turbotax, plus I do my mom’s and brother in law’s. I might then try for more after, but we will have to see.

Reading Update:

I’m currently read 4 different books. (one will be below).
First is Battle Royal. I’m 100 pages in so far and really loving it. It follows 42 students who are put on an island together where they have to fight until only one is left. Let me know if you guys would be interested in a post where I compare this book and the hunger games! The Hunger Games is similar to this book in a lot of ways and also not at the same time. If anything, the true copier of Battle Royal is Fortnite.
Secondly, I am nearly halfway through Iron Flame. I think it’s pretty good so far, but not nearly as good as book one. I’m just waiting for something to happen at this point.
Last is Red Rising. I am really enjoying the Graphic Audio audiobooks for this book! I’m almost 3/4 of the way through and I’m hoping to finish it today. I think the first 1/3 of the book was the best so far, but I never know, the end could blow me away.
ARCs on My Shelf:

Celadon sent me this book yesterday. Technically it isn’t an ARC because it came out already, but it is an ARC copy. This is the 2nd time Celadon has sent me an ARC after it’s release, but at least this one was within the same month of release.
I also started this book yesterday after I got it in the mail. I’m 20 pages in thus far and am enjoying it. I have read both of Michaelides other books. I really loved The Silent Patient, but hated The Maidens. I actually ARC read The Maidens on Netgalley and ended up DNFing it.
This book is going to decide if I want to keep trying this author, to be honest. Which was the fluke? We will find out.
What I Watched:
This week I didn’t watch much, but I am getting close to the end of season 3 of Masterchef Canada. I have been enamered with AITA reddit posts on Tiktok lately.
A Look At February:
Here is what I believe will be my schedule for February! The topics for Let’s Talk Bookish have not been released for February, so I have no idea what fridays I will be posting those.
