New Years Book Tag (2024 edition)

Hello readers! How is 2024 going for everyone? Mine has been good so far. I thought for my first tag of 2024, I can do the same one I did first in 2023.

This tag was created by Booktuber Bookables.

How many books are you planning to read in 2024?

I’m hoping for 200! I know if I have a good year, I can do it. I made it to 129 in 2023 and I really want to hit 200 for the first time.

Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year, but want to make a priority in 2024.

What genre do you want to read more of?

I’m going to say what I said last year and that’s scifi. I really want to dive deep into scifi. I want to restart the Murderbot series. I heard it’s being made into a movie or TV show and I’d love to see it! I LOVE scifi that centers robots or similar types of characters.

Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2024

  • I’m going to kind of go off one from last year and work on baking and cooking more. I wanted to make more pies last year and this year I just want to try all types of new recipes. This week sometime I am making some homemade pasta sauce for the first time! I got a immersion blender to help me make things like that more often.
  • Second is to work on becoming fluent in Spanish. I started using Duolingo in December and have managed to do it every day for 30 days! I understand quite a bit of Spanish already, I just have struggled with fluency and making my own sentences.
  • The last one is to watch more shows that have a real plot. Seriously, when I watch TV, I am usually watching a cooking show. I do like other stuff, but don’t prioritize them much.

Last year, I started watching some shows by myself, but stopped around March. I watched Alice in Borderland in Janaury along with Juon and All of Us are Dead. I started The Glory, but didn’t really like it.

I’m hoping to watched the live action One Piece and finish Money Heist, which I started in like 2022 or something. Of course, I’ll let you guys know what I’m watching in my Sunday Posts each week.

What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?

I want to read through as much of the Cosmere as I can, but I will be so satisfied to make it through this book. It’s nearly 100 pages over 1k and I really want to get to it this year. I’ve owned this book since 2020 and it’s time to read it!

One word you are hoping 2024 will be.

CALM! I said it last year and it didn’t come true. I want a drama free, stress free year. When I say that I mean big drama and stress. Not normal adult stress.

  1. Great post, I’d love to pick up Tress of the Emerald Sea and I’d love to do more baking this year.

  2. Words of Radiance is amazing! I think it’s the best Stormlight book to date. I hope you love it and I hope you reach all of your goals!
