Alli the Book Giraffe

Hello readers! It’s almost 2024 and that means we need to talk about what I’m reading next month. This TBR is going to be pretty big, but I think I can do it. I have 8 that I absolutely want to get to and 3 others that I hope to get to if I can.

Throne of Glass is for my book club. I’m already 10 chapters into my reread as I started rereading it earlier this year. I knew this book club would help me to keep accountable to actually reread it and finish this series.

I just kept picking other things up and neglecting this one. So, I need to not do that and read it to the end.

I also need to get to Iron Flame for my book club! I am so hyped to read this book. I got book one pretty late in the month this month and I anticipate the same will happen with this one.

Retribution is the first in a romantic suspense series. I am not sure how I feel about this genre yet. But, I am optimistic. I’m hoping to ARC read book two in February, so I need to get this one in first.

I signed up to ARC read Becoming Mallory because the MC is autistic. That is all I really know about it. But, I want to ARC read any book I see with autism rep in it.

This is a rep that is done wrong so often and I feel as though it is so important to get it right. Autism is so misunderstood by non-autistic people. Even many relatives of autistic people don’t quite get it.

I was already planning to read this in January and then the author put it up for free on Kindle. It might still be available by the time you see this, but it is the 2nd book in a series.

I hope I can get through more than one of her books in January! She has a big backlist and I want to get through it this year.

The Buzzword for January is Their, They’re or There, and I am using that as an excuse to get this book on the TBR! I wanted to read this anyhow, but didn’t really know when it would be.

Jordan Peele makes some amazing movies. He also has a horror podcast called Quiet Part Loud that is really good. If you love horror, check out anything he touches.

I read an LGBT anthology similar to this in 2023 that I really didn’t like and I’m hoping that this one can be everything I wanted from that one.

I am starting my journey through the Cosmere with The Bands of Mourning. I’m finishing Mistborn era 2 before I go into Stormlight Archive.

Stormlight is the one I’m the most scared of. Those books are huge! My first Sanderson book was Way of Kings and I never went back to the series.

I watch this Booktuber named Jess who had this book club called Book Communiread. I read one book with the book club back when it was still going and loved it.

So, when I heard she was bringing the book club back, I knew I had to jump on it! I love that book one centers Palestine. It is absolutely heartbreaking what is happening over there.

Well, I thought while I’m reading lots of bigger books that a short spicy romance would be nice to squeeze in. This one and the next two are only going to be read if I have time for them.

This series is over 20 books and honestly I think I can read them all in 2024. Most are VERY short. This one is less than 200 pages.

Dark Lover is book one in the Black Dagger Brotherhood. There are over 30 books in this series and connected ones. And, I’m a completionist. So, I’ll be reading them all.

I know I am starting too many series and I wanted to finish more in 2024, but there are 11 other months for that. 🤣

I bough this book on my Kindle right before Christmas. It is book 8 in the Night Huntress series. It was finished after book 7 and then the author wrote two more.

This is one of those that are the same book but in the man’s perspective. I wouldn’t usually care for that, but I’m actually really excited to see Bones’ perspective. Especially if it covers the moment they met and all.

I’ve been reading this series for nearly 11 years! I started it at 19 and I’m about to be 30. I will honestly read anything this author writes.
