Hello readers! I had a great reading year in 2023. Which is crazy, because I didn’t read much in the first half. I have read nearly 130 books this year and these are my top five. I bounced back in life and in my reading.

What is your favorite book of 2023? I might be reading some book blogger’s faves in January! 4 out of 5 of mine are romances. Nearly 60% of my reads in 2023 were romances and yes, I really made a chart for that. 🤣

Call me a stereotype, but I really loved Fourth Wing. I’m currently rereading it for my book club and I am enjoying it just as much as the first time!
I love the thriller aspects, the trails, Violet’s tenacity, and so much more. I also get a sort of nostalgic feeling when reading this book. I can’t explain it, really. It just has some of the best qualities of some of my favorite books I’ve read before.
Seriously, give this book a try if you haven’t!

I usually cannot pick an absolute favorite of the year, but this is it in 2023. This is one of my favorite books of all time. It is so good!
This is a very dark fantasy book with amazing characters. It has spice and lots of action, with awesome world building.
If any of y’all are Melanie Martinez fans, this book gives me the same vibes as her music video for Mad Hatter. It has cute aspects, but is so dark. I love it.
Read the triggers of course, but pick this book up in 2024 if you havent! It’s on Kindle Unlimited along with all her other books. And, I’m in her Facebook group, so have some insider info. There is another book coming in 2024 and I’m dying to read it!

This was one of the only winners from the first half of 2023. This is a scifi thriller connected to The One following spouses who can register for a service that will monitor their marriage 100% of the time.
In this world, you are punished if you stay single or if you do not participate in the type of marriage with monitoring. It was really amazing.
Marrs’ books always have that one character that you don’t expect to be the villain and love it. I really hope to read The Passengers in 2024 as it’s also connected to this book.

I was in between Space For Love and Maneater by this author. I loved this romance. I love that the FMC is plus size and we don’t focus on her insecurities about it.
This one follows a human woman who has just moved to this station full of aliens. She starts going to these simulations where she meets an alien, but she doesn’t know what he looks like.
This was such a cute romance with plenty of spice and a cinnamon roll MMC. I really do not read books with those enough.

This is one of those books that people either love or hate. For me, it was an easy 5 star read. I am not kidding, this book is a romance between a woman and a door. And it is in the perspective of the door.
It sounds crazy right? It absolutely was and I loved every minute. It is only like 70 pages total and worth the read if you are open to something a bit on the weird side.
