Seasons of Book Blogging Tag

Hello readers! This Thursday’s tag is the Seasons of Book Blogging Tag, which was created by J. Bookish. This one has a prompt for every month, and like I’ve seen others do, I’m going to start on the month we are in.

November is the month when we’re reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. Choose one book you’re grateful for having read and give a shout-out to the person who recommended it!

I was recommended this by MANY people on Booktok. I asked for recommendations and they sure gave me some great ones.

Seriously, if you like dark romance read this series. And, all at once, which is what I did. I read all 5 in 4 days! They are really short, though.

December is a time when friends and families come together and celebrate. Name one book you would give as a gift.

It’s hard to pick a book to recommend without knowing who I’m giving the recommendations to, but this would absolutely be one I would gift.

I know it’s a long book, but it’s so good from beginning to end! I seriously need to get my hands on book two soon as book three is coming out early 2024.

January begins a new year. Name a resolution you made this year and if you’ve kept it or not!

Oh, a fun one I did was to read a favorite author every month! Did I do it? No. But, I did do it for most months, which is almost as good.

February is the month for relationships. Name your favorite book relationship: romantic, platonic, or familial.

There is no other romance for me that tops Clara and Fin. I will find any excuse to talk about this series and author as well. These books are so spicy and action packed and amazing.

If you are not reading Indie authors, you are truly doing a disservice to yourself.

March is the month for luck and new beginnings. Name a book or series that you would like to re-experience as if you’d never read it.

I always say this! I would love to read Death Note for the first time again. This is one of my absolute favorite manga series I’ve ever read.

It follows a teen named Light who find a journal called Death Note. Anyone who owns a Death Note can write the name of a person in it and they will die. They can simply write the name and they will have a heart attack or write in specific detail how they die.

Light becomes a bit too power hungry and people start to suspect something is off when a bunch of people suddenly start dropping dead. Seriously, read this series! It’s only 12 books, which is short for a manga.

April is a spectacularly ordinary month, Name a book that was so over-hyped that it just couldn’t live up to your expectations.

I had such a love hate relationship with this book. I really enjoyed it besides the romance. I wanted the FMC to find her self worth and dump him! The MMC was the actual worst and toxic.

I am the only person I know of that didn’t love this book, so I had high hopes before starting it.

May is the month when the flowers start to bloom. Name a book that was a pleasant surprise to you.

This is a brother’s best friend, Christmas romance following Nellie and Jake. Nellie’s parents died recently and she isn’t very close to her brother has he only says negative things about her body and her job.

She comes to town for Christmas and is stucking rooming with Jake in a hotel room with only one bed.

This was such a cute and funny book when I was in the middle of a slump and really needed it. There is no third act break up! I need that more in books as it feels so unnatural in many romances.

June is the time to take a break. Name a book or genre that you like to read when you just need to check out.

I would say a really short and spicy book. Those books that people call trashy romance novels. I was feeling very slumpy this month and those 180 page or less spicy books helped me along.

July is the time to celebrate your independence! Name a book that made you see fireworks.

Most people were interpeting this as an absolute favorite, so I’m going with The Bromance Book Club, which I don’t see people talking about enough! I know it’s not unpopular by any means.

Every book in this series is a favorite except book 4. I need every man to read these books and take notes.

August is the hottest month of the year. Pick an up-and-coming author that you think will be the next hottest thing.

Rebecca F Kenney! She is pretty popular on Indie author Booktok, but not anywhere else. I have now read 5 of her books and she is on her way to being a favorite author. I was really over retellings before I read A Court of Sugar and Spice. She also has a huge backlist, which is hard to find with indie authors I’ve seen.

September is time for students to go back to school! Pick a book you read for school that you actually enjoyed.

I actually made a required reading post once and was going to do another, but it didn’t seem like you guys liked it. I actually enjoyed most of the books I was required to read in school, but The Christmas List was at the top.

This is a sort of retelling of A Christmas Carol where a man has an epiphany that he is a horrible person and goes around apologizing to 10 people he has done wrong. Some of the apologies go well and others don’t.

October is time to celebrate Halloween! Pick one character that you would love to dress up as for Halloween.

I am just a sucker for a pink character and I would totally dress up as this succubus. She is also a very powerful and plus size FMC and I’m living for that, too.
