The Sunday Post #18 (with a sneak peek into my Blogmas schedule)

Hello readers! How was your Thanksgiving? (if you celebrate). Mine was really good. I have some pictures of what I baked this year below. I cooked and baked for literally three days. I love cooking, but that was a bit much at once. We did turkey AND ham this year, which was not as hard as I thought it would be.

The Sunday Post and the thumbnail I’m using were created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!

Life Update:

We almost had a Thanksgiving disaster! We brought in this folding table from the garage to put all our food on. My mom scooted it over with all the food on it and one side collapsed. All of the food gladly just slid to the floor and didn’t topple over! Our deviled eggs were very messy after, but all other food was fine.

To the left is my double layer upside down cake. I make this any time I have an excuse to! The white inbetween the layers is cool whip. I sometimes put that on there, but never on top.

I also tried something new! This is a pumpkin pie on the bottom and a pecan one on top. I have made both of these pies before, but never together.

That crust wasn’t browned enough, but everyone it was for sure cooked on the bottom. I also misread the recipe and put way too much vanilla in the pumpkin portion, but it tasted fine. I was STRESSED about that.

Do you guys remember back in December 2023 that I said I wanted to make a bunch of new pies this year? Well, a lot of things went wrong, but I did manage to try this one and quiche. I didn’t take a pic of the quiche, though.

There is always 2024 to make my way through a pie journey. I’d like to make lemon meringue as that’s my fave. I’ll keep you guys posted when I make another.

Reading Update:

I’m hoping to finish The Fine Print today. I have been reading it for a while now. Like, almost two weeks!

I said in my WWW Wednesday that I wasn’t sure how the alcoholism would be handled, but I don’t think it’s bad at all. I like that he has slip backs and truly wants to get better.

The Cruelty of Magic is an ARC of a high fantasy book. Those first five chapters were rough to get through because of all the world building being thrown at me, but it really slows down after that.

On My Shelf:

One of my mutuals on Booktok wrote a Christmas Tree shifter romance. I mean, after I read that door one, I can’t pass this up. It sounds absolutely unhinged and I love that. I don’t really have time to read this, but I’m going to anyways.

What I Watched:

My BIL got Hulu back for 99 cents a month for a year. It is the commercial one, but I don’t mind. As a result, my husband and I are back to watching Naruto! We are just over 300 episodes in and hope we can finish it this next month.

I’m also watching Hell’s Kitchen still. I love seeing how it has changed over the years. I haven’t watched before season 10 before.

A Look Into Blogmas:

Now, this is subject to a few changes. But, here is my projected Blogmas posts for December. Let me know if there is something you’d love to see me do this month! I can move things around as a few posts are not set in stone.
