Hello readers! It’s tag Thursday again and this time we are doing the Old Books Tag. This tag was created by Booktuber Books & Pieces, who no longer exists. This tag mostly centers classics.
ACTUALLY, if you guys are interested, I got the questions for this tag from Zeezee with Books. If you click on their name, you can see where I get most of the tags I use. They have this HUGE masterlist and there is enough on there to do a tag every week for a few years.
Have you ever bought a book that was made before you were born?

I have this box set of Lord of the Rings that came out in the 50s. I bought this on Ebay about 10 years ago now. I honestly considered getting another set because I can’t open them without creasing, but I just ended up listening to the audiobooks instead.
I also ended up really not enjoying book 3, but I don’t plan on getting rid of my set anytime soon.
Which book on your shelves takes place in the oldest time period?

I think everyone who buys classics has a certain publisher that they love to buy them from and mine is Arcturus. I just love how colorful their books are.
I own both the Illiad and another book with the Odyssey in it that are both ancient classics.
Do you have a book that was published in the same year you were born?

I’ve only read 2 books that were published in the year I was born (1994) and I don’t own either of them.
The Closest one I have is Rose Madder, which was published on January 1st, 1995. King’s 1994 book was Insomnia, and I don’t have that one.
I even own his 1993 book, which is Dolores Claiborne! This is actually kind of funny.
Which book on your shelves have you had for the longest?

Okay, this edition of Little Women came out in 1994, but the original was published in 1968. Should I have counted that for my previous one? I’m not sure.
This is the 1994 Book of the Month edition. Yes, that BOTM. Did y’all know Book of the Month is that old? I owned this book my entire life and didn’t notice until this year that was the publisher.
I also have a precious moments bible that I’ve had that long as well. It’s a regular bible, but it has illustrations of Precious Moments in it.
Which book have you had the longest but haven’t read?
Probably the Hobbit from that box set I mentioned earlier. I have no idea if I will read it at this point, but I really enjoyed the movies!
What is the oldest book you own?

I got this edition of The Great Gatsby at a Goodwill when I was a teen. My Grandma took me there and told me I could get a book and just picked this one. Little did I know, this edition was published in 1953!
I don’t think it would be worth much, though. It’s not in the best condition and wasn’t really when I got it either.
Which book do you have that was written the longest ago?
I would have to go for the Illiad again. It can’t really be known when the story was told first, but most people think the late 8th century BC.
Also, let me know down below if you would like to be tagged when I do these tags! I never know who to tag and no one ever tags me. So, feel free to tag me if it’s a tag I haven’t done!
