Alli the Book Giraffe

Hello readers! I have big reading plans for the last month of 2023. I don’t typically read much in December, but I’m still going to try to get through my entire TBR.

I have quite a few books I need to read for my GCA post, which comes out on the 15th if everything goes well. I probably wont mention all those, though.

Do you read a lot in December? I usually read the most in August and the least in December each year.

I got this ARC earlier this year and it comes out January 16th, so it’s about time that I get to it. Book 1 was such a good one. I went into it thinking it was a fantasy romance and it isn’t one.

This is a cozy fantasy book that is still very dark at times. Faeries were originally dark creatures in stories and they have slowly become friendly then love interests. I love seeing that side of fae shown.

I think there will be a romance in book two, which I’m also looking forward to.

Mislaid in Parts Half-Known is the 9th book in the Wayward Children series. It comes out on January 9th, so I need to read it this month as well.

This should be the last book in the main part of the series as the odd books are the main series and the even ones are usually backstory. I’m really excited to see what the characters get into as there are dinosaurs on the cover.

Shattered is an ARC that comes out on December 7th. I’ll be starting it later this week, but I think I’ll have it finished in December.

Shifted (book 1) is a paranormal romance that had this twist ending. While reading it, it seems like it’ll be a contemporary romance. Then you make it to the end and the twist was crazy. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one.

Here is the book club book! I still need to buy this one, actually. Assassin’s Blade comes before Throne of Glass and is a series of novellas.

I’m so glad I started this book club and everyone is going to keep me accountable by reading it through it.

Boy has it been difficult to dodge Iron Flame spoilers. I have seen a ton of spoilers of this book as well, but at least I’ve read it before.

We are also reading this series in the book club! As I said, I read it before, but I wanted to read it again anyway. I know I’m going to love it even more by reading it as a group.

One of my followers on Booktok bought me this book and I really want to squeeze it in by the end of 2023. It may have to be way later in the month, but I still want to read it.

I’m hoping to spend 2024 making my way through the rest of the cosmere as I have read a good chunk of it, but have plenty left to go.
