Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Authors I Haven’t Tried

Hello readers! I haven’t done one of these in over a month and it’s time to do one this week. I actually did a post like this once and most people commented that they hadn’t heard of the authors I mentioned. 😂

I’m hoping this time that I’ll have at least a few you guys had heard of. I guess there are so many authors that we can’t know them all.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, you pick your top 10 of the topic provided.

November 14: Mainstream Popular Authors that I Still Have Not Read

Tessa Bailey is one romance author I’ve never tried. I think I would go for It Happened One Summer as it is her most popular book.

Ali Hazelwood is an author I keep getting recommended. I am sure her book will be at the top of the list on the GCA for romance, so I’m hoping to get to this one this month.

The GCA nominees might be out by the time this post comes out, but they aren’t when I’m writing this.

Sally Thorne is another romance author I haven’t tried just yet. I haven’t really embraced the genre since this year.

I have SIXTY TWO friends on Goodreads who have read this book which means I need to try this one first. She has many other popular books, though.

Okay, I’m not really sure if I will ever try Colleen Hoover’s books, so I just picked one at random. Her books have never really appealed to me, but I’m hoping to keep reading the GCA nominees every year for romance and I guarantee she will eventually be on there. She didn’t publish a book this year, so I won’t be trying her for the list anytime soon.

Despite being a fan of thrillers, I haven’t actually tried that many authors in the genre. Lucy Foley seems to be pretty popular in the mystery/thriller genre and I need to try her at some point.

I have tried Gaiman, but not Terry Pratchett. He has so many books that I’m not sure where to start.

However, I did try the Good Omens TV show earlier this year and enjoyed it a lot. I only watched 2 or 3 episodes total, but I would love to read this book.

I’m also the only person on earth who doesn’t really enjoy Gaiman’s books, but I’m still interested in reading more from him.

Ana Huang is huge on Booktok. Her current ongoing series is King of Sin, which should be on the GCA list this year. I’m only aiming for the top 10 and I’m not sure if this series will be up there, but I’ll still try her books at some point.

She must be a good writer of everyone loves her so much!

Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo has been on the top of my TBR for a long time. I LOVE french classics and Dumas is french.

Did you know he was also black? It’s not easy to find 1800s classics from POC authors.

Michael Crichton is the author of Jurassic Park. It’s not on Libby or Hoopla, or I would’ve read it by now. Of course, I could buy it, but that isn’t how I read most books.

I will eventually read this series because I think it’ll be really good. I loved these movies as a kid and would love to see the source material.

I haven’t delved that far into scifi, but I have wanted to read Andy Weir for a while. Again, the only reason I haven’t tried this author is because he isn’t on Libby or Hoopla.

I haven’t heard the best things about this book in particular, but I still want to try it for myself.

    1. I feel like Colleen Hoover is one of those authors that people really love or hate. I’m scared to see where I sit on the list.
