Hello readers! It’s time for another tag. There are actually 3 different versions of this book tag (that I know of), but I am doing the one created by Booktuber Amy Jane Smith, whose video no longer exists.
If you are looking for a big list of book tags to try, go to Zeezee with Books’ post. That is where I found this tag and most of the tags I’ve done this year.
Are there any books you plan on reading over the autumn season?

I feel like everyone reading this knew what I was gonna day for this one! I seriously cannot wait to read this one and it’s so exciting knowing how many people will be reading it at the same time as me.
I bet the people who work at this publisher where they print books are working overtime right now to print this series. 😂
September brings back to school memories: What book did you most enjoy studying? And, what were your favorite and least favorite school subjects?

I actually really enjoyed (most) of the books I had to read in school. I started a series on my blog earlier this year where I went over all the books I was required to read, but it didn’t do well, so I didn’t keep going.
The book I enjoyed most was when i was a Sophomore in high school when I read The Christmas List. This book follows a man who one day sees his own obituary in the newspaper and that causes a sort of epiphany within him. He asks his secretary to make him a list of every person he has wronged. She gives him a list of 10 people to start because he has wronged a lot of people. In the book, he goes to each person and asks for forgiveness. Some accept instantly and others punch him square in the jaw.
I don’t think the author has ever said, but I would say it is highly inspired by A Christmas Carol. It has that vibe for sure.
October means Halloween: Do you enjoy scary books and films? If so, what are some of your favorites?

I am a huge horror movie fan. I would say The Scream franchise and The Conjuring franchises are some of my favorites. I also really love 80’s horror! I’ve seen all the Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, Children of the Corn, Halloween and Child’s Play movies. Some would say those franchises are too long and I would agree.
Scream however, has no bad movies. I think the most recent one was the absolute best. I will keep watching them as long as they are making them! Hopefully, we will see Stu in one in the future.
As far as scary books, I do like scifi horror, but most of the time I struggle with the genre. Many times horror books will have ambiguous endings, which I don’t like, or body horror that I can’t bring myself to read. I can watch Saw any day, but I can’t read that stuff. Man, I read a book the other day with a character who had a splinter she kept fixating on and I almost couldn’t get through that.
With November, it’s time for bonfire night & firework displays. What’s the most exciting book you’ve read that really kept you gripped?

I got an ARC of maneater last month. I sat down to read 5 or so chapters and ended up on chapter 14! It was such a good book that was honestly unputdownable. I can’t wait to read the ARC of Behold Her when she sends it to me.
Short romances are just so addictive. Once you start them, you can’t put them down.
What book is your favorite cozy comfort read?

The Seaside Cafe Mystery series was so cozy and great to read. I loved all the food, the pets, the characters, and even the romance. Also, this MC is plus size! I have yet to read another cozy mystery that I love as much as this series.
Curled up with a good book, what is your hot drink of choice?
I really love hot tea. I have a caffeine sensitivity, so I don’t drink coffee much. Seriously, coffee and high-caffeine tea makes me feel nauseous and gives me heart palpitations. My personal favorite tea is sleepytime. Sleepytime tea doesn’t make me sleepy at all, but it’s really delicious.
Any plans you’re looking forward to over the next few months?
I’m really excited for Thanksgiving. We started planning for it in late September. I usually cook everything myself and we are having some guests over from my husband’s workplace. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? I realy love make pineapple upside down cake! We are also planning to do both a turkey and a ham for the first time.
