An autistic book lover

The Sunday Post #9

Hello readers! It’s the first Sunday Post of September. I had a relaxed weekend. My husband somehow managed to have Friday and Saturday off two weekends in a row, kind of. He had to go in a for a few hours both Fridays, but mostly had them off.

We are looking at a post every single day of this month! I remember when I started this blog, I could barely manage 2 posts a week. I struggled to do 2! I always admired those people that could post every single day, but all it really takes is an lot of extra planning ahead.

The Sunday Post and the thumbnail I’m using were created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!

Life Updates:

Well, not much has been going on this week. No power outages! So, I’m happy about that.

My dog has been going through it. I am so stressed about this. My dog, Padme, is almost 2 years old. She recently has been going through her 2nd heat cycle, as she hasn’t been fixed yet. She has just been depressed on a level I’ve never seen. She also has been itchy all over and has bitten all sorts of holes into her skin, mostly on her legs and scratches on her head. I had to put a shirt on her because she was chewing on her nipples so much they would bleed, even though its summer and too hot for that. She had been shaking her head so much from itching that she caused hematomas to form in both her ears. We have treated her as best we can for everything and she is mostly back to normal. Still a little itchy, but her ears are no longer swollen! She needs a vet appointment ASAP, for sure.

I’ve also started writing again! I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned that I have been writing a book for a long time. I wrote around 200 pages of it and hadn’t touched it for around a year. I sent it to my Kindle to read over again and I think I could publish this thing! That would be so fun to do.

On Friday, we have the 13th Every Book I Own post. I’m going back to the physical TBR this month. Lastly, on Saturday, I have a Book Blogger Hop. I usually do those on Sudays, but they are moving to Saturday.

Reading Update:

All three books I’m currently reading are romances, but they are very different.

My Office Rival is an office romance centering two lawyers who are on opposite ends of a case. They have a one night stand together at the very beginning of the book and then the rest is sort of a slow burn where they both want each other, but won’t just go for it. It is very steamy and super funny. They both bully one another and tease each other. I love some good banter between love interests!

A Court of Hearts and Hunger is the 2nd book in the Wicked Darlings series. We follow characters from book 1 and new characters. I believe this one is a why choose with Alice and a fae version of the White Rabbit (though he isn’t white) and the Cheshire cat. The Queen of Hearts is in the book as well and so is a female Hatter. These books are SO FREAKING GOOD.

I just started Treacherous Notion, but it is the 2nd book in a rockstar romance series following the bands bassist and the stylist. The first book is an accidental marriage mixed with a little bit of enemies to lovers and fake dating, this one is a friends to lovers situation, and book 3 will be a 2nd chance romance.

On My Shelf:

I currently have this one on Hoopla. I am planning to listen to it tonight while I cook dinner. It is less than 2 hours and is a GraphicAudio audiobook and I LOVE those. It follows Cat and Bones, from the Night Huntress series, on vacation when they find out they are being stalked and followed.

What I Watched:

This week, I have been watching Masterchef. I really don’t know why, but MAX doesn’t have the Halloween or Holiday Baking Champioships. I really want to rewatch Holiday Baking Championship! They do have Spring, Kids, and the new Summer one, but not the other two.

With my husband, we have been watching Naruto here and there. I am SO TIRED of the flashbacks in this show. Every time a character mentions that they haven’t seen another character in a while, I verbally say, “oh no, cue the flashback.” It’s KILLING ME.

We also started watching the 5th season of Once Upon a Time. We have watched this show together a few times, but we always end up quitting watching it on that season. I am genuinely not sure why. We are really hoping to finish it this time!
