Stacking the Shelves #3

Hello readers! It’s time for another Stacking the shelves. This one is yet another Kindle version. I really don’t need to add to my physical TBR anyways.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. You can click the link to get all the details, but in short, it is for sharing your new books!

Detective Olivia Collins must navigate a dangerous investigation involving supernatural beings while partnering with rookie detective Nathan Steele. As the case unfolds, Olivia is torn between her independence, her feelings for Nathan, and her growing attraction to a mysterious suspect named Xavier Knight. With blurred lines between good and evil, Olivia’s choices become risky, leading her on a journey to confront her inner demons and outrun danger. This thrilling race against time tests Olivia’s resilience and trust, ultimately redefining her and forcing her to face her own humanity.

I received an ARC of this one this week. I won’t be reading it until early September, thought. It comes out on September 15th. I’m excited to read it and let everyone know my thoughts.

In this suspenseful story, Zoe, a responsible and caring individual, finds herself entangled with her crush, Case, who becomes the prime suspect in a recent murder. Despite warnings and risks, Zoe is determined to prove Case’s innocence while grappling with her own feelings for him. Will her pursuit of the truth jeopardize her family’s safety?

This is another ARC I received this week, but this one will be released in October. I’m excited for this one as well. I just really love the opportunities I am getting to help some authors who don’t get enough attention on them. BTW, this book will be on KU when it comes out!

Eloise, a personal assistant to a popular rock band, finds herself unexpectedly married to the band’s drummer, Keller. Despite their initial reluctance, they must maintain the facade of their marriage for the public’s sake. As they navigate the challenges of fame and their growing connection, they begin to question whether their relationship is just a performance. This book is perfect for fans of music, adventure, passion, and heartfelt moments. Get ready to dive into this captivating rock star romance!

I received Ruinous Notion as an ARC. The author said it isn’t necessary to read the first two books in the series to read this one, but I want to at least read the first book. I will most likely get to both, though. Ruinous Notion doesn’t come out till late September, so I haven plenty of time to read all three. Faultless Notion is on KU if you are interested in trying this seires before book 3 is released.

V, an autistic Chicana vampire living in L.A., struggles to fit in with humans and seeks to control her psychic connection to those she feeds on. Supported by her best friend Mya, V navigates the challenges of her newfound vampiric existence while trying to avoid falling in love with humans. However, everything changes when she encounters Madís.

I also borrowed V from KU. This one came out earlier this month. I mostly wanted to read it because it’s a vampire story and the MC is autistic. I haven’t seen an autistic person represented in that way and I’m super excited to see it! I know that the literary fiction type representation is amazing and important, but it’s cool to see autistic people portrayed in a vampire book.

On the enormous alien space station called Spire Station, a human woman, Fina, accepts a job and finds unexpected connection with an intriguing alien named Breks, who hides behind a holo. Fina becomes determined to prove their love for Breks, despite not knowing his true form. Meanwhile, a seladin named Fina, who works at SimTech Suites, encounters a human named Fina and is smitten by her, but fears revealing his true form to her due to his intimidating appearance.

I kept seeing this book on Booktok and had to try it for myself. I guess I’m becoming a fan of spicy alien books. I loved this book so much. The MC is plus size. I loved the language used involving gender. It was such a quick read that was extra spicy.

I love romance books with a lot of banter. I love seeing characters being hilarious and awkward togehter. This was a great story and it was quite refreshing to see a plus size character that wasn’t just a little bit more curby than the average person.
