Hello readers! It’s Sunday again. It’s been two weeks since I made a Sunday Post because I had something else scheduled last Sunday. Keep reading if you are interested in what I’ve been doing for the past two weeks and what is coming in the next one!
The Sunday Post and the thumbnail I’m using were created by The Caffeinated Reader. In The Sunday Post, you share news each week with your audience. This can be personal, book news, blog news, or anything else you want. Click the creator’s name for more details!
Personal Life
In the past two weeks, I haven’t been up to much. I got a brand new bed. Before, I had a California King and we downsized to a much softer Queen bed. My dog is not happy about it one bit! She doesn’t know where to lay on the bed without all the room.
For over a week now, I’ve been working on a post involving reading 7 different books. I am slowly waiting for all the books to come in, but I have made it through a few now. I have a deadline I want to get to! I’m having a hard time keeping it in, but I have been sharing a ton of details on my Instagram stories. I always update my stories about books I’m in the middle of.
I started a Booktok as well. I haven’t posted on it, but I would like to start. It’s Alli the Book Giraffe for anyone wondering. I haven’t dived into Booktok too much, but I would like to in the future. I have a habit of using Instagram stories as Tik Tok sometimes. Making the change is intimidating! But, I think it’ll be a fun challenge.

Reading Update

I just started reading this one earlier this week! It’s all about this podcaster whose old boarding school roommate was brutally murdered around three decades ago. So, the thing is, the police pinned the crime on this poor guy who got forced into confessing after 13 hours of interrogation, and he’s been rotting in jail for it ever since. But now, our podcasting MC is on a mission to crack the case and reveal the real killer.
So far, it is very slow paced. The first 30% or so is going over what they knew from the crime and all the evidence used to pin it on the person who didn’t do it. I’m hoping it picks up soon, but I am invested! This book delves into the ethics of true crime podcasting. It critically examines the societal fascination with these narratives, raising concerns about the idolization of criminals and the use of true crime as a form of entertainment.
On My Shelf

I recieved an ARC in the mail of this book on Friday from Macmillan. It actually came out on June 13th. I checked out the Goodreads and it seems to have very low readership. They also sent me this Book Club Kit telling me to let them know if I use it for my book club. I don’t have a bookclub.
Celadon sent me a book a long time ago for a promotion, but I signed up for it. This was just random. I might end up reading it, but it was unsolicited.
What I Watched Last Week
Over the past couple of weeks, my husband and I have been totally hooked on Naruto Shippuden. If you’ve been following my previous Sunday Posts, you’ll already know that we’ve been binge-watching this epic series for like a whole month now. Can you believe we’re already 200 episodes deep out of the whopping 500? I am getting a bit burnt-out, but I’m also really enjoying it at the same time.
I’ve been binge-watching Masterchef myself! There are 6 episodes out for the newest season. This time around, we’ve got a fierce showdown between home cooks representing different regions of the US, all vying for the title of the best food. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m from the good ol’ Midwest, but I gotta admit, our food might not be the absolute best. How on earth could you beat southern food?
I’ve also been, slowly but surely, making my way through Sailor Moon. I’m still in the first season at the moment. I never got into Sailor Moon, Pokemon, or Dragon Ball as a kid. Who would have thought, right? But my husband, he’s been watching Dragon Ball himself. I totally love Pokemon Go, but I think Pokemon is way too long to start now, you know?
Blogger Highlights:
I also enjoyed Young Creative Press’s post I’ve Never Read a Classic. There is a certain group of readers in the community who only see classics as real reading. If you like to read anything, you are a real reader! This post made me consider making a series on this blog about different literary eras. I’m not sure when I will do that, but knowing different eras in literature can help you find a classic you might love. The history of literature is actually very fascinating.
The last one was by a.mermaid’spen_ and it was simply named rant. It centers around spam comments, likes and those people who just comment to promote themselves.. I suddenly started getting over 1000 spam comments a month a few months ago and I have no idea why. I go through all of them almost every day because there are so many!
Happy blogging and bookish adventures! 📚🦒✨
