Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Bookish Wishes

Hello readers! Today’s post is a Top Ten Tuesday post. I have done this is the past, but it was probably two years ago. I’m hoping to do this once or twice a month from here on.

I think I’m back to a normal point on my personal life. Everything kind of fell apart for a few months, but I am a-okay! I will be posting tomorrow as well and I’m hoping to start posting 4 to 5 times a week going forward. I really missed it here.

My reading is finally becoming a bit more regular. I could even do a WWW Wednesday this week, which would be amazing!

What would you guys like to see more of on this blog? I do have a lot of ideas, but I really want to know if there is something I do that you would like to see more, or if there is something I don’t do that you would like to see.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, you pick your top 10 of the topic provided.

This weeks topic: Bookish Wishes. List the top 10 books you’d love to own and include a link to your wishlist so that people can grant your wish.

I used to have an Amazon wishlist linked below, but I took it off my posts in the past few month. This topic has inspired me to remake my wishlist and post it again!

Amari finds her way into a paranormal school after her adult brother has went missing. He used to go to this school, too, so she hopes to find out where he went now that she can go.

The police assume her brother was a drug dealer and refuse to search for him.

This book was about a girl who wanted to find her brother, but also brought up tough topics like racism AND bullying.

The sequel came out late last year and I still have yet to buy or read it. The first book was one of my favorite middle grade books I’ve read yet.

Battle Royale is one I’ve wanted to read for a very long time. It isn’t available on Libby or Hoopla for me, or I know I would’ve read it sooner.

There are rumors that this book possibly inspired The Hunger Games, which came out 9 years after this one. However, this is only one book and is much more violent. It follows a group of teens on an island, who are given weapons and told to kill one another until there is only one person remaining.

Keep it in the Family was Marrs’ new release last fall. It follows a couple who recently buys a new house. They slowly discover horrible things that occurred in their house. Mia, the wife, is struggling with a new baby and finding the secrets of this home.

I read The One by this author a while back and would love to read more from him, but his books are not available on Libby or Hoopla at my current library.

Cake Eaters follows Marie Antoinette. However, this is set in 3070. She has just arrived in a new kingdom to marry the prince and get a ton of likes.

Once she is married, she and her husband come to rule the kingdom earlier than they were ready for. Riots and social media storms ensue and they must work to save their reputations.

This is another one not available on Libby or Hoopla, or I would’ve read it by now! I just love the idea of an alternate mystery set in the future. If done well, this book could be iconic!

I genuinely feel a bit of FOMO for this Brandon Sanderson box that everyone is getting this year. I wanted to sign up for it, but it was VERY expensive. However, one of the books is now out for everyone, with another one coming this month, and I really want to read it!

Here is a link to Sanderson’s post about it on his website. You can read the first few chapters there and find out all the information.

Grounded is co-authored by four authors. However, I mostly am interested because of Aisha Saeed. I have read two books by her plus a short story collection she and all these other authors participated in.

Grounded follows four kids stuck at an airport during a bad storm. Kind of giving me Unaccompanied Minors vibes, but not set at Christmas.

Yet another book not on Libby or Hoopla. This is an anthology and the only books that Alex Gino is a part of that I haven’t read. Alex Gino is one of my favorite authors. I even wrote a paper about Gino in college a few years back.

Let me know if you’ve read this! I am hoping it will be really good and hopefully my daughter will want to read it, too.

Sacrifice is the first book in a vampire series by Robert. I finished Wicked Villains last year and want to start another series by her. If you didn’t notice the theme here, this is another book I can’t find on Libby or Hoopla. I tried to pick books that I couldn’t get from my library.

This seems to be a forced proximity romance between the main character, a half-vampire, and a vampire. I miss the vampire books craze and I hope it makes a comeback soon.

Back in 2021 when this book came out, I did request this on Netgalley and was denied. I don’t really go onto Netgalley much anymore. I noticed when I requested and read ARCs on Netgalley, I tended to hate the books I got. I guess I am just terrible at picking ARCs.

This one follows two girls who fake date because one of them is continuously told they are faking being bisexual because they haven’t dated a girl before. They then fall for one another.

This is Reyes’ newest book. This is the same author as The Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School. This one follows a group of people victimized by the same person. The main character is an autistic girl who is the newest victim. She discovers this group of people whose goal is to take down Luis Ortega for the sexual predator he is.

As an autistic person myself, I am super excited to see this authors take on an autistic character.
