Hello readers! Today’s post is another tag. This one was created by former Booktuber Read Like Wildfire. I can’t find the original as it no longer exists. This tag is all about the reading habits you might find yourself feeling guilty for having.

Have you ever re-gifted a book you’ve been given?

Yes! Almost 10 years ago my Aunt gave me a big box of books. Many of these were Stephen King books, which I kept. However, I then regifted a few to my Mom and some other family members who I thought would like them more.

Have you ever said your read a book when you didn’t?

Yes! I used to do this all the time when I was younger, mostly a teen. I would start a book, get 50 or so pages in, and then just tell people I read the whole thing. I didn’t know DNFing was a thing. I thought quitting a book meant I was a failure, but it doesn’t mean that at all.

Nowadays, I will just straight up say I didn’t finish a book! It’s just easier that way.

Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

I had this copy of Casual Vacancy of my Mom’s for YEARS and eventually sold it to Books A Million. Right before, I tried to return it to her, as I hadn’t read it and didn’t want to, and she tried the book and hated it. She didn’t want it back so I got rid of it.

Have you ever read a series out of order?

I was reading Narnia in chronoligical order. I haven’t read one in a long time though.

I did accidently read the 2nd book in a series last year. I got an ACR of Widowmaker from Netgalley. It didn’t state on Netgalley OR Goodreads it was in a series at the time. I only came to find this out a few months later when the book came out. I really didn’t enjoy the book and now I know why.

There is that spot on Goodreads that usually shows what series a book is in, which it does NOW, but back then it didn’t have that.

Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?

I will tell non-readers, or just people not interested in the books I read, all about the books I read. I will read a book, watch te movie with my family ,adn then tell them all about the books differences. I’ve never spoiled a book on purpose without the person being okay with it!

Have you ever dog-eared a book?

Absolutely not! I don’t believe in dog earring books or having my books dog earred. I will use a candy wrapper as a bookmark before I dog ear, or just simply remember the page I’m on.

Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?

I was thinking about doing this for my Every Book I Own posts. I still own Harry Potter and other books related to it, but I was thinking of skipping over it. I wouldn’t LIE, but I don’t want to promote an evil person. I’m sure I have other problematic authors, but she is the worst one in my book.

Have you ever skipped a chapter or section of a book?

I do this when I want to DNF a book, but I also want to know what happens at the end. This would most likely happen with a thriller or mystery novel. It feels like a DNF, but I also want to know who did it. Sometimes I will just look up spoiler reviews so I don’t have to skip to the end at all.

Have you ever bad mouthed a book you actually liked?

I am the first one who will tell negatives before positives. I want others to make an informed decision about reading the book, so I might mention some negatives about a book to let that person know. For instance, if I read a fantasy romance that I liked and that book had zero smut in it, I’m gonna let everyone know! If I read a thriller I enjoyed, but I predicted the ending, I will say that I did.
